| A little bit about me.... I have been married since January 2007 to my wonderful husband Efrain and we've been growing closer ever since. Our marriage has been blessed with the birth of our son, Efrain Zechariah. My passion in life (other than raising my family) is to provide professional labor services to families and to women like yourself. As a person who has given birth myself, I believe it is one of the most awesome events God has especially created for women. | Doulas..... *Recognize birth as a transforming life experience that will forever change a woman *Stay with the laboring women throughout labor and delivery *Provide physical comfort with massage, relaxation techniques and with suggestions for efficient laboring positions *Understand the physiology of birth and the emotional needs of women in labor *Assist women and their partners in preparing and carrying out their plans for birth *Facilitate communication between the laboring woman and her other health care providers to ensure her wishes for birth are respected |
| My services include.. Meeting me- There is no charge for this initial interview and you have no obligation to use my services. If you do, we will schedule your first prenatal visit. I will provide you with contact information; and, will be available for questions whenever you need me. Prenatal Meetings- 2 prenatal meetings and 1 prenatal visit to your health care provider. 24 hour on-call availability - Beginning with your 38th week to delivery, I will be available by phone. Call any time 24 hours a day when you think you may be in labor. Support throughout your birth Immediately Postpartum- I will stay with you immediately after your baby is born to ensure that you both are comfortable with breastfeeding and newborn care. Postpartum Visit - I will come back to the home/hospital within the next day or two and discuss breastfeeding progress and newborn care. We will schedule to meet about 2 weeks after the baby is born to review the birth, and I will provide a written birth story |
| Marie Santos CD(DONA) is one of our newer Doulas in the Central Valley. I welcome her to the profession and I am pleased and proud to mentor her in her journey. Marie will be taking her own clients as well as assisting me when I need back up.
